A wounded dog

I roam alone by the streets and saw a dog wounded to death
He lay on the sidewalk and even so there´s still life in him
I go next to the animal and with my body…
I provide him protection of the cars passing fast by

I lift him up and putted his weigh on my shoulder
With running blood I left the jungle of the road behind
When I get back home I putted him on the white sheets
And he fought to breath
I went to looked for some water and a rag and washed the wounds
He drunk thankfully the water
I putted him some rice and ham
And even though he show reluctant to eat, he ended up access

He fall asleep and I covered him, because the wind of Winter didn´t stopped to yell
There were hours full of anguish and uncertainty
Until I finally fell sleep dam and tired
Something wet like a little piece of rug woke me up
And when I opened my eyes I saw the beautifulest I´ve ever seen
I´ve seen the happiness of a being to be alive
Eyes filled with tenderness and gratitude
Eyes surrounded by bliss
